During heavy rain my car cut out when I stopped at the light and the engine management light came on. After z few days it went off.
After looking on google I found the ecu is right where water drains from the wind screen so water dripping in has damaged it. Is there anyway to stop this as it seems a very dodgy placentre to put a ecu. Thanks for help.

Do you know the ECU is water damaged or are you assuming it is? Cutting out in heavy rain is often water getting into the intake system and confusing the Air Mass Meter.

No Ive just googled with the ecu being in the position it is that's why I thought water damage as its a common fault.
It cut out instead of stop/start
I'll check the air intake tommorw or is it a normal thing and nothing to worry about

I have never seen water damage to a type 36 engine ECU or even to the earlier type 3C. Before you do anything you need to have a code read carried out to see if anything is stored in the engine ECU memory.
