Hi all,
Over the last few months, I've seen the DPF light on my 2009 1.6 Tdi Bluemotion Passat come on and off. Sometimes a few seconds.
Today I started the car and it was in idle for a minute or so. I took the key out, got back in the car (forgot my wallet).
I started the car again and noticed:
The Engine Management Light (glow plugs) was flashing
The Emissions Control Light was on/solid.
The DPF Sensor light was not on.
I tried to drive the car but it was clear it was in limp mode and not a good way to try and start a motorway journey. Incidentally, it was a week ago when I was on a 2-3 hour motorway drive.
I happened to have a cheapo OBD2 scanner and it read the error as P2463. I couldn't clear the error for some reason.
Now I don't know what to do.
Should I attempt to do a "Diesel Particle Filter Emergency Regeneration (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Diesel_Particle_Filter_Emergency_Regeneration)" or is that too risky or even worth doing?
Thank you.
EDIT: Also, is there anyway to come out of limp mode without a VAG machine? I can't find anyone local who would do it for me at an affordable price.
