Hi All,
The aux / serpentine belt on my A6 has snapped so obviously needs replacing - it's 2006 4.2 V8 Quattro. It's pretty tight down there... no real room to speak off. I have read various reports about pulling the front into service mode, taking the rad out etc. but no real conclusive guide as such as to what is required. Basically looking for a heads up on how hard a job it is?
I'd rate myself as reasonable with a spanner... done cam belt on an Alfa V6 a few years back... but if this is more than a days work I really don't have the time at the moment so I don't want to get myself into something I regret. It would have to be done on a drive way as well and with normal 'home' tools...
If the car were in a sensible location I would definitely be rolling it to a garage... but it's in the French Alps with no decent garage anywhere in sight. So I either take my chances with an expensive local garage who will be more used to little Renault's... or I do it myself. The 'local' Audi dealers don't have much better a rep and are a fair recovery away.
Any help, guides or tips would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris
