Wooshing noise

Hi Folks,

Noticed a strange wooshing noise when the car is on only way to describe it is like the sound of a passing plane wooshing past. Managed to isolate the location and it seems to be coming from behind the driver side panel in the boot. When turning the engine off sound continues but starts to sound abit gaseous and bubbling. Have no clue what it could be. Anyone else experience something similar?

That is the area of the fuel filler, maybe tank venting partially blocked? Try releasing the filler cap does the sound go away?
