Hi All

Been a member for years but finally have my first question.

Joined with a 16v Mk3 Golf c.2000/2001.
Went to a 2005 TT 3.2 DSG c.2008.
Now I have the A6 dating from 2010 which I bought nearly a year ago.

Managed to get the U-boat (it is dark blue) under warranty from Preston Audi and so of course that is about to expire. My question is therefore, what sort of areas should I investigate to make sure I don't miss out before warranty goes?
Related question/hint: do people trust the dealers to perform all the steps in the n point inspections on approved used cars?…

Am sure warranty won't be as extensive as on a new car, but nonetheless must be worth thinking about/exploring.

Examples of things am going to mention already are:
Sat Nav - The lady appears to have had one too many: A few months back she suddenly started saying to turn next left, for example, when clearly from map/actual location it should be a right. This is an occasional occurrence but a definite change from when I acquired the car. Wonder if a reset/update is available/required.

CD Player started having trouble loading CDs - it has two players in the glovebox: a DVD/hard disk on the left; a 6 slot CD(DVD?) player on the right.

A few more minor issues:
- Glove box is incredibly slow to open - suitable maybe for 'Flash' (from Dept. of Mammal Vehicles in Zootopia) as my daughter likes to point out.
- Petrol (doh.. diesel) flap lock mechanism failed/broken - still does the job but is loose and will stop working when it inadvertently slides out.
- 2 out of three cir lighters appear not to be working/charging.

Would be interested to hear back from you all on anything you might have to say about this car.

Many thanks and have a good Easter.

If you have all those faults, report them and book it in?

Ask the garage whats covered under warranty.
Might be worth booking it in for an mot elsewhere and ask the tester to be fussy, thinking if the garage you got it from have been doing the mots they mat not be so vigilant if its going to cost them money!
