Topping Up Gear Oil On Mk4 Golf

Hi Is There Anyway Of Checking The Level Of The Gearbox Oil? When Been Driving My Car Is A Bit Notchey Changing Up In To 3rd But Thats It Rest Of Time Ok & No Problems With Any Other Gears & Only When Changing Up To That Gear,help On Above N Any Other Suggestions Cheers

you might find that sometimes the gates shift on the gears, it is a commom problem, what golf do you have, it is more common on the the 6 speeds, because if you where low on gear oil you find it would be notchey on all gears. if it is none of the above it could be the synchromesh on the thrid gear,

Yeah i have 6speed mk4 gttdi 150 so that might be the problem,but will try the gearbox oil first cos cheaper :beerchug:
