Hi All,
around 2 months ago, my car developed a splutter, shortly before the engine warning light coming on and the turbo not boosting. I took it to the local basic garage who said that a pressure boost valve needed replacing. When this didn't fix the problem, he got in another specialist who diagnosed a faulty ECU and repaired it.
it has been ok since, until a few days ago, when the car did a bit of spluttering on a 150 mile round trip. The turbo is still boosting but I am concerned that the problem is about to return.
I would be grateful for people's shared experiences and informed opinions.
Thanks,

My tiguan 2.0 bit spluttered occasionally when my Egr valve solenoid had failed usually when the engine is started on a cold engine you should notice a higher rpm until the engine has warmed up this it the egr valve working.
The egr valve is integrated with a cooler which is quite expensive and will require exhausts seals.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately mine doesn't do this from cold. It is totally indiscriminate.

Sorry my mistake your engine is the 2.0 pd engine not the later common rail diesel like mine. The 2.0 pd suffers problems with the injectors which were or should have been replaced during a recall. Your issues is most likely caused by dirt fouling the fuel injectors do you use supermarket fuel as this is a common cause using a good fuel injector cleaner adaptive can help.

I'm not sure mine is a PD engine. Mine is a 58 plate, I thought the pd's were in much earlier models?
your right about the supermarket Diesel though. I will definitely look for an injector additive. It can't hurt!
Thanks

Dirt fouling the injectors ??

Are you running without a fuel filter ?

I hope I'm not without a fuel filter. I'm sure a garage would have mentioned that!
The engine management light comes and goes, but I don't recall the error code being linked to the injectors.
