How to replace the horn?

Hi All,
I have a 54 plate Touran with the annoying high pitched squeaky horn tone. Can I remove the wires from the horn and fit them to a relay without upsetting the canbus?
If that would work I have a large array of other more pleasing items I could fit using the relay.
Any help would be appreciated.

Your best solution to replacing the horn is to purchase a Bosch fanfare two tone horn available on amazon. All that is required is to cut the OEM horn plug off and fit two spade connectors to the wires. The OEM loom should have a second horn plug taped up nr the other horn wire connector. The Bosch fanfare has a high and low tone horn as fitted to the later Tiguan , golf but with out the OEM specific plug socket. Bosch part number 0986AH0503 fanfare twin pack high low.
