98 caddy misfiring

Vw caddy 1998 1.4 petrol.
Hard to start and misfires when running. Sometimes it runs fine. Possible faults?

Changed the lambda no difference.
When i spray brake cleaner (flammable) around the plastic manifold it dies out. Can it be cracked?
