Yeah that's it. Get it warm. Really good lambda sensor socket and a good ratchet. Work it backwards and forwards to not strip the thread's. I hear they are good for 50000 miles.

Also are the sensors universal or do i need a audi specific one?

Go for a well known branded item like ntk or bosch etc I wouldn't go for anything that has to have the wiring plug chopping out and wires joining. If you can afford the Audi one I would go that route.

If you go cheap you will end up doing it again, its a fact that i know from certain parts on different makes of cars.
Its a bit like MAF sensors buy cheap buy several, fit a real quality one and yes the price will **** you off but it will work and keep on working as intended.
You can get cheap sensor sockets but the one I use is 6 sided do not get the 12 sided bi-hex as they can slip, some of the sensors I remove from trucks have done half a million kms!
Quick simple check 22mm spanner and see if the sensor is going to move at all if not you need the proper socket.

Like this 22mm 3/8" DRIVE LAMBDA OXYGEN SENSOR OFFSET REMOVAL SOCKET TOOL + HOLE WIRE 26-9 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22mm-3-8-DRIVE-LAMBDA-OXYGEN-SENSOR-OFFSET-REMOVAL-SOCKET-TOOL-HOLE-WIRE-26-9-/321955824491?hash=item4af610036b:g:do4AAOSwHPlWeT3 D)

Also spray with some plusgas and allow to sit overnight, mine on my jag wouldn't budge initially but with plusgas the day before it came off really easily :)
