I have a 2007 passat 2.0 tdi bkp engine!
It has been starting poorly, always starts but with a fair bit of snake as not burning the fuel, after it's been running a minute will start fine til cold again.
Checked for power to the glow plugs at the harness and no power, the glow plug modual has power to it but not sending power out.
I have tried a different modual and still the same!
So have go a coolant temp sensor to try, where about sis the ecu sensor located? I know the gauge one is on the end of the head with the thermostat I think?
Cheers in advance

What is "snake"?

Get yourself a VCDS Autoscan and post here for the diesel experts to read

I'd like to know where this sensor is located too please if anyone knows.

Engine temp sensor for ECU, not dash gauge.

On all models an engine coolant temperature sensor is located on the left hand side of the cylinder head. There is a second one in the rubber radiator outlet pipe at the top. This feeds temperature information coming out of the radiator to the ECM and then the ECM turns the fans on to the required speed to cool down the coolant. So only two wires are needed to the sensor. If the sensor fails fans go full on assuming worse case scenario.
