I have an allroad with the 245bhp engine in it ....its been remapped now , but was wondering if there was much difference between that engine and the newer facelift 275 bhp unit in day to day driven can the exta bhp and toque been noticed to a large degree.
with the remap mine is at about 290-300 bhp which as made a big difference overall from the start.
If any one has experienced both types would be interested to know how they compared to each other.

I got 268hp stock version which is now producing 333hp after stage 1 along with 767nm.
Can't comment on 245 version but if I compare mine stock vs remapped. It's just different car to drive and that v6 sound it makes is just amazing

Was the 268hp engine available in 2012? Thought it was the 245 until 2014.

When I bought the vehicle, it was advertised as 245hp. When i dynoed it, It was spot on at 268hp.

good old dyno lottery.........rolling road figures need to be taken with a good pinch of salt. It's far too easy to get weird readings
as for the question....I think the turbo is definitely different and there maybe one or two others but I believe it largely the same

Ahh Right, so it's officially a 245 version. have you compared it to an official 268hp (272) version in unmapped state? The OP's is the same as yours. He's asking for comparison between the 2.
I've driven the Official 245ps (241hp) and own the 272ps (268hp) there's quite a difference in performance between the 2 in non allroad form, however I've never owned the 245 so can't comment on what it's like to live with.

That’s the 4th time I’ve read the 245 might actually run well over 245ps (241bhp). I ran my own a few years back (see attached below) and I fully appreciate it could be wrong, but a Golf R had just been run and was almost spot on. A forum member ran their 313 BiTDI on the same dyno shortly after and it was putting out 327bhp.
Maybe it ties in with the more significant “quoted” gains for the 245 – 272 compared to the 313 – 320 facelift engines?
…anyway, I’m still waiting on someone getting their 272 on the rolling road (pointing no elbows A6S :biglaugh:)

Isn't one of the advantages of the 245 the fact that theres no AdBlue to ***** about with? I might be wrong, I don't know. Mine doesn't feel slow but it's an allroad so I don't often drive it "dynamically" and I've never tried a 272 to compare it with.

Yep that is true. I have driven one 275 bhp but that was in my sisters Allroad.
