Hi Guys,
Just got my first Audi, A6 Black Edition 2013 2L TDCI and love it.
I was wondering if there was any update for my MMI version and if so, what is it what would it give different from this one?
Current Software Version: RMC-EU-P12321
BlueTooth Software Version: 3.32.3
Thanks [emoji12]

You can update the firmware yourself, but maps are dealer only. Personally with the RMC system if it's not broken then just leave it alone, there are no feature updates on the RMC system that would make the update worth while. Also updates are not without risk!

The maps on my 3G+ were updated last week and I was no where near a dealership.

My car is a 2012, pre faceliftMaybe Audi have done something different in France, Certainly here in the UK the 3 years free map updates (5 downloads in total) was only offered following the facelift and the support of 4G/LTE cellular connection

The car is UK spec and has 0900 FM and 2017 maps all done without visiting a dealership. It is possible

What improvement did you notice after upgrading from 2012 to the newest version?

My car was stuck on the maps it came from back in 2012 so for me having all the roads in my area that have recently been built has been a godsend
in terms of the MMI I found it a bit mkrr responsive. Also because I have the sim slot I can use a sim for Google and connect my phone for phonecalls

Your car has MMI 3GP (Hard disk based navigation) the OP has the RMC system. There have been no hacks available for the navigation on the RMC SD card based system. The only way to update the navigation on the RMC system is to go to an Audi dealer.

He was truly helpful. There was a problem with updating maps and he could have hung me out to dry due to my location. Several phone calls and the problem was sorted. Very helpful and highly recommended by me.

Yes - you can buy the cards from Audi for around £35.
Make sure you have a battery charger or leave the engine running while updating - if the battery dies during the update, your £2000 RMC unit will need replacing ;)
Secondly if you do it yourself, it will cause a diagnostic error which Audi will need to fix. It doesn't cause any problems - just depends on how OCD you are if you run a VCDS scan!! Audi will charge you £60 for the privilege regardless of whether you buy the parts or not. They will do the update for £60 without buying the cars but you need to give them a TSB number or they will claim no update. If car is in warranty then won't be any charge.
I upgraded mine to K16158 but believe there is a newer update out now. The P numbers are only for the factory installed version. As soon as you or dealer updates it will switch to K.

Thanks mate . Did you take it to the dealer . How much did this cost you . Was it just the 60??

I asked the dealer for a price but because they wanted £60 vs the £35 to buy the card I chose to do it myself - the error doesn't bother me.
