Hi

I have a Cat D 2016 Tiguan (66 reg) that has been repaired but now requires the warning lights on the instrument panel sorting out. Does anyone know someone that would look at this in the Midlands area to do a diagnostic check and complete any electrical / coding work required?

Cheers
Darren

Did the air bags trigger?

Yes they did, but have been replaced and the ECU has been cleared. I've been told that the airbag light will remain on until it has been reset.

Many mechanics, including me, will not clear the data on an air bag ECU which has been cleared, they are made one time only for a good reason. If the car is involved in another accident and the SRS system fails due to a cleared ECU, the blame could come back at the person who cleared the codes.

I agree with crashes,
You need a mechanic that has a vag compatible (vcds etc) that can read the codes and locate the fault to fix issue, once fixed the correct way the light will go out.

Simply clearing the codes with a scanner or deleting the sensor from the module is a risky position for any mechanic to be in like crasher says...

Sometimes the fault can be something as simple as a dodgy dirty connector, a simple make clean fix, but without a diagnostic code to pin point the location of the fault it's like finding a needle in the hay stack..
