Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to keep the rear view camera lens clean as once driven in the wet the camera is useless without getting out and giving it a quick clean...

I wonder if anyone knows of any retro-fit flip-down cameras or camera covers that flip down when reverse is engaged? I like the reverse camera on the Merc C-class that pops out when needed and therefore stays clean when not in use.

No tips from me, just another frustrated owner.

Same here, suppose worse on the Avant models like mine. Be interested in any kind of solution to make my 700 Euro option work a bit better :-)

I've always thought about this

might try some Rain-X or similar as that should help shed the water. My front camera is worse though; especially with all the salt in the road :(

Been the same for all Audi's with the parking camera, since the option appear in the early 2000's, not seen any retrofit solutions for covers etc.

Rain x doesn't work. I've tried for about 6 months in vein but no change. I just give up now and rub it.

Above is only solution and any car with a pop out is best .

€700 option tickles me as my £25 model dedicated with Sony Cmos lense is bang for buck .

I alway woundered why they didn't put a washer jet on the Avant.
It is one my nightvision camera at the front

Strange indeed.

On another note, washing the car more often may work....;)
