A6 C7 Interior light LED replacement interior Max' Car Blog (http://www.maxcarblog.com/audi-a6/diy-audi-a6/interior-light-led-replacement/)

Hi Everyone

Over the weekend I fitted a full set of LED's to the interior of the car including the boot lights and door lights .

I did find something out that may save a bit of it ,when I comes to fitting the wedge bulbs in the front and rear domes they can be removed without at the front having to remove the T15 screw but uses a long nose set of pliers to pull the old ones out. Theis was of big help on the back dome lights as I could not get them to come out of the ceiling at all so I removed the plastic cover on the light and just pulled the wedge bulbs out and push the new led ones in.

Overall it was about a 15min job and made a massive improvement to the look of the interior of the car and was very happy , the light output is far greater and it gives the interior a much more modem clean look to it .

As I say removing the rear dome for me was very hard, so the fact that the bulbs could just be pulled out was far easier for me , so hope that it is of some help to other thinking of the same upgrade at some point.

Hi,

Good blog.

When you took the rear light cluster out, could you see if there was a bolt for the roof Ariel? I think mine needs replacing as it not finding any satellites.

Thanks,

Hi SLP

I did the same thing a few weeks back in mine. Vast improvement like you say and not that bad to do. I too used a pair of long nose pliers to get some out.
Well recommended.

Hi

Thanks glad to help in some way

I was luck or unlucky with the rear deepening on how you look at it, as I could not for the life of me get it out and it was easier to take of the light covers and just put out the wedge bulbs with long noes pliers.

Sorry ...hopefully someone will know and be along to help .
Sorry

Hi Comper

Yep it's a great improvement and for £30 and a few extra leds as the boot needs 3 and also the 2 at the bottom of the front doors ....which now light up the ground as they should.
Just goes to show how poor the old ones where.

I did think that the rear doors would have the puddle lights too but on my Alload its only the front ones.

its a job I would highly recommend to do .

I see your in Henley In Arden in Warwickshire .......my Son lives in Coventry so not far and I'm up and down there every other weekend
used to work in Henley ...lovely place .
