Hi all,

i'm trying to get a feel of how much data i need to subscribe to to cover my MMI usage using Google Maps for the navigation.

I currently drive about 3 hours a day using Nav all the time.

How much data do you use? and how much of your driving uses Google Maps?

Thank you

Mike

Less than 1gb a month for google maps and online traffic working as a rep, so in the car lots.

Thanks for that. I just picked up from Amazon a 24Gb data only, non time limited sim for £27. Bargain!

I just got exactly the same, but doing 90 miles 90 miles per week day average I was using 300-500mb per month. The Amazon deal means I don't get any extra bills, it just runs out at 24mb, which I can't see it doing, or at 2 years which is the most likely. The only frustration is I have just renewed the phone/broadband with Talk Talk, and it now includes a free 500mb per month sim which I could have used.

At upto 500MB per month, EE's 6GB SIM caps at 500MB per month and was on offer at £14.99 (normally £29.99? for 12 months' usage) when I got one from Argos for my wife's tablet. For lower usage FreedomPop offers 200MB monthly FOC but isn't safely capped like the EE SIM.

In 6 months and about 5,500 miles with Google Maps as the default I've used less than 1gb of my 3mobile 12gb in 12 months Data Sim card which seems great value @ £30.

Thanks for that, i guess that the more traffic changes there are the more data will be used on any particular route.

Oh and about your new phone contract....that's called 'Sods Law' i believe :o

Thanks again

Also on the 3 sim - I've gone through about 30gb in 11 months or so but thats because the phone goes over to the hotspot and then theres the streaming music/youtube. Apps also like to update over wifi so the minute the phone goes over, it starts to update all the apps.
Not really fussed, never gone over the limit of the sim

These 24 Gb cards seem to have vanished- does anyone know if they are still available anywhere?

Cheers

CheersYou're right - they have vanished. I was lucky and got one in anticipation of my Connect trial expiring before they were withdrawn, and in case I couldn't persuade HQ to renew it.

The best offer at the moment seems to be the 12GB version, but it's nowhere near as much of a snip as the 24GB one.
