View Full Version : Question Rear bumper price

Someone hit my car yesterday whilst it was parked and I think it'll need a new bumper. They didn't leave any details so need to get it sorted. Before I decide whether to go down the insurance route I want to get an idea of price.

Parking sensor still works fine and no damage to the wing or exhaust.

How much would a new rear bumper cost?

you have a choice. new genuine, new non genuine or used. there are places that sell new bumpers and they spray them as well, or you buy an unpainted one and get a body shop to fit and spray it.

audi a6 rear bumper c7 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=audi+a6+rear+bumper+c7&_pgn=2&_skc=50&rt=nc)

New bumper from Audi is around £420 depending on spec.

I certainly wouldn't go down the insurance route as it will put your premium up for the next few years and depending on excess probably won't be worth it. I'd go for a used one in good condition. If you can get the right colour with a good paint job then that would be great, if not a black one and get it re-sprayed.

Thanks everyone. I went to see a friend of a friend today who has a body shop. He pushed out the dent and said he can sort it out and get it looking like new for £180, including a couple of other non related scratches. Won't be done for a couple of weeks, but I'll put up another pic when it's done
