Sat Nav loves minor roads

I have a 2016 MY A6 ultra (with Tech Pack advanced) and my Sat Nav keeps taking me on minor roads!

I have tried using 'shortest' and then 'fastest' as route preferences but to no avail as presumably the minor roads it guides me to take are deemed as both shortest and fastest even though these are often single-track roads where you keep having to reverse into passing places for oncoming cars!!

Anyone having a similar issue and more importantly found a resolution? I don't think I'm on the most up-to-date maps release, but I can't see that making any difference?

There is a setting somewhere that you can check boxes to use or avoid motorways, toll roads etc. Have you had a look at your settings?

Thanks Mitchy, but I have had a look at those and it only covers things like motorways, toll roads, ferries etc. Can't see any setting to either 'avoid minor roads' or 'use major roads'.

Any other ideas anyone?

If you're not using the latest maps, update via my Audi.com. You could also use the calculate alternate routes function and see if that gives you a better option. Might also be worth posting your settings screen.
