Hi guys,

I've lurked in the shadows since buying the car in April. I'm in need of some Audi JEDI knowledge if you would be so kind.:D

My OSR brake is squealing at me due to excessive pad wear, wheel is also warm to touch after drive (warmer than other 3) a local audi specialist ran VAGCOM EPB and came up with the conclusion the caliper was sticking and that I needed a new one.

Now pinning down the correct caliper was a bit tricky but I believe I need BHT 307E (Audi part no: 4G06 15403) can anyone confirm if this is correct?

I also wanted to inspect the caliper myself and see if it could be cleaned, renew the seals etc to save some money instead of just stumping up for a caliper. I have purchased the "carista" OBD and the app allows 2 settings for controlling the EPB "OPEN" and "CLOSE" I have reservations as I've seen posts and videos talking about using different OBD tools that offer "SERVICE" type settings or "LEARNING" capabilities. Am I going to be able to open my EPB, remove/clean/replace my caliper, then replace with new pads and discs with the settings I have at my disposal? Is it possible it won't know the thickness of the new pads and clamp them tight to the disc?

If I get the green light for the above, am I safe to turn off the ignition once the EPB has been wound off?

Think that's about it for now, any other advice I've missed that you think would be useful is always appreciated. I apologize for my first post being a beg for help, I do want to be more involved in the community, I love the car and would love to show her off...she's just being expensive and awkward....standard :p

I'm hoping to do the job tomorrow
