Hi guys

First post here :)

I am just looking to get an A7 S Line but I'd love one with self parking.

Which year was this released and what's the name of the feature ?

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forums. The feature you are referring to is called 'Park Assist' and I think it was introduced in 2011 but could be wrong. I have it on mine and can honestly say I have used it zero times.

I think it's called park assist and believe it's been available on all A7s. You can tell if the car has it by looking for the 4 additional sensors on the bumpers.

I love gadgets but that's one thing I would never use or trust so didn't spec it

Mine has it and I actually use it fairly frequently. Not for reverse parking (although I did try it out all the same) but for parallel parking. If you need to do a lot of this then remember the A7 is a large car, so personally I find it very useful.
It works flawlessly and always lines the car up perfectly in a gap and right up to the kerb without touching it.

My Mum has it on her Merc E350 and it's completely useless - always hits the kerb!

Used it once on my Avant A6, reverse park, and it was spot on in center of bay. Not used it for Parallel yet, but I dont have any issues parking it. It was fitted to car when I bought it but not a feature I would need personally.

Hi and welcome!

I have park assist however never used it, The spec of you have detailed looks great to me, its best to go for the toys you will definitely use. Have you driven any with HUD? this is something I would really miss now, other than that i think mine is similar.

I waited ages for something to come on the market with power fold mirrors and 4 zone climate control which I really wanted but gave up in the end,

Hi

I have the park assist and would recommend it to anyone, I use it a lot and it always works perfectly, always parallel to the curb or bang in the centre of the space.

I have Park Assist and find it very useful, particularly in tight parking spots. It works well and places the car very well in both reverse and parallel parking spots - better than I do!. Visibility to the rear in an A7 is not easy so I think it is worth having this option.

Does anyone have a picture of the extra sensors to see if the car has this option, it would help me on my current a7 hunt. Or the option code?

They look exactly the same as normal parking sensors but sit on the side of the car. Just in front of the front wheel and just behind the rear wheel.
