Air escaping from hose?

Hi. Non mechanic here. Taking car to mechanic on Monday. Air escaping from hose with blue tape on it. Just put that on to get to mechanic. What is the hose and what is it's job in life. Have attached a few photos. 2000 Audi 1.8 estate. Cheers 3212332124

Does anyone know what this hose is for?

That is the fuel pressure regulator manifold vacuum reference hose, on an ADR it is 140-mm of 3.5-mm vac hose.

Depends on who does it, if it was on a car in for service with me then a few pounds, in NZ, God knows....

Thanks for that. My mechanic did it in 5 mins, no charge. So great result and I learn't something at the same time. Thanks aagain for the help
