My 2012 3.0 S-line turbp avant displayed a "check coolant" level during the hot weather this summer. Assuming it was expansion due to the heat, topped up and sailed on. Started to come on more frequently and had to start topping up with about a pint every 500 miles. No evidence of a water leak anywhere on the engine or on the driveway underneath the car overnight. Eventually had it in for checks. Turned out it was some pipes connecting the two sides of the V6 engine right in the bottom of the "V". Luckily under warranty otherwise would have been about £700 mostly in labour. Just thought I would post in case anyone else starts to have the same problem on a V6. Bit poor after 45k miles......

Michael.

Been there @ 75k. Was topping up approx 250 miles 1 pint, then it went to 100 miles....

Pipe that runs for a 1 way flow valve for the EGR cooling jacket (for me), runs between the V-6 inlets, one bank has to be removed for access... part cost £6 (plastic in-line), labour £500. inc, pressure testing. It was a bummer as I had to pay for anti freeze for the second time in 6 months (first time water pump @70k).
