A6 4G Avant late 2011, Panorama sun roof, sun blind closing stops and open 25 cm.

Hi all.


I have a small problem when closing my sun blind to the panorama sun roof.
I push switch to second position and sun blind starts closing but when almost closed, 2 cm remaining, it stops and reverses until its app. 25 cm open.


It is possible to close it manually when doing it in small steps, switch to first position, until closed completely.


Any ideas ?? :confused:


Can I see something / change something with VCDS or in MMI menu…?

If you can get it closed, you could try "refreshing" the stop memory in the way that the electric windows work. Get the blind to the fully closed position. Release the switch. Push and hold the switch in the close position for ten seconds. Release the switch and then see if the blind works correctly.

Ahhhh – success.

Now better than before :Blush:

When fully open and switch shortly to second position – sun blind closes but open again 25 cm.
When 25 cm open and switch shortly to second position – sun blind closes completely.

Also have you checked for an obstruction in the travel?

For the electric windows: If an obstruction is encountered (it could be something in the guide rail or a bent or dented guide rail) the window will go into auto-reverse / anti-trap mode and wind back open. Usually, if you try to close it again immediately, the anti-trap feature is overridden and the motor will "power" through the obstruction if it can. You may find this is happening with the roof blind.

I checked for obstructions – none.
I think it’s the ‘override function’ that’s active when I try to close it the second time.


Perhaps the guiderail itself needs some maintenance.
Anyone knows how it works - wire or ?? in left/right side?

Maybe some oil/lubrication can make the sun blind slide more smooth so that motor doesn’t overload..

Found this...

To calibrate electrical sunshade press and hold forward button until it goes backward and then closes.
To calibrate sunroof press and hold down button until it goes backward and then closes.
