Trying to help a good friend who has a W reg A4. It has just gone in for its MOT and has failed due to the ASR light on all the time.

Now we have checked the switch and it does work in respect that when pressed it there is a momentary switch contact.
We are assuming this must trigger the system to switch the ASR on/off. As far as I can see there are no errors reported in the ABS section when using VCDS Lite 1.2.

Are we looking in the right place in VCDS to check it. Is there anyone who might be able to help or give us some pointers on how we might be able to resolve it.

Many thanks.

Does your friend have the same size of tyres all round? A difference front to back could cause the light to show.

All wheels are same size. The me we think about it we believe it's a wiring or module fault.

Now just need to find a schematic for the circuit to trace the wiring.

I am using VCDS Lite 1.2 and using the ABS Brakes option in the common modules there is no reported fault.

Is this the right module or should I have looked elsewhere.
Reading the online manual I think I should have checked using the AutoScan button to list all the faults. Will see if about tomorrow to try again.
Thanks for all the help so far.

Have checked the faults code using the VCDS Lite and got these
Address 03: ABS Brakes
Protocol: KW1281
Controller: 3B0 614 111
Component: ABS/ASR 5.3 FRONT D00
Coding: 00012
Shop #: WSC 06435

I am therefore assuming that the coding number is incorrect on the module.

Unless he can find somewhere else it might have to go the our local Audi garage to have it done. Any idea of costs?
