I have an issue that I'm hoping for some help with on my 2001 Audi A4 1.9TDI.I have a problem that if I turn full right lock then back the steering wheel is off centre and then the steering doesn't drive straight and sets off abs. If I turn full lock left it's like it resets and the steering is fine. I've scanned with vcds and have no faults. I spoke to a steering rack supplier that has informed me of two different part numbers for my year 2001 and unless I know the part he's unsure which I would need. I spoke to my local VW and they said they won't give out part number info. First question is does anyone have an idea of any other fix than replacing the rack and if it's a rack replacement can anyone help with what part number I need my vin is WAUZZZ8EX2A080953. Cheers for your help.

Call hadwins in Cumbria (Lindale), ask for parts and try them for part numbers. They're a joint dealer with hadwins VW who always give me info for my Passat, they even send me Etka drawings in the post if I need to identify a part I can't describe. Granted it's VW I speak to, but maybe the Audi side of the dealer would be just as good?

Hope it helps and good luck [emoji106]

The genuine number for a rack on your car is 8E2 422 052 TX which is a ZF unit and these are available from any Bosch agent under their part number K S01 000 913.
