No.. dont have the engine code. i'm looking at in an advert and i asked the guy f he knew, which he doesnt. I have the registration number, dont know if that helps?
Is it only the SE that has 110bhp? I may ask him for the engine code.. where would it be?

On a sticker in the boot or in the service book. AHH and AHU are 90PS and AFN and AVG are 110PS.

Ok thanks.. i'll ask him. Where abouts shall i tell him to look in the boot for the sticker? Will it be obvious, is there a designated space for it?

You need the engine code to find out. There will be a sticker which tells you what engine code it is by the spare wheel and also in the front of the service book.

another easy way to tell the 2 apart is that the turbo on the 90 sits very high in the engine bay, rocker cover height, the 110 sits very low, halfway down the engine block:D

Try the basic history search on autotrader, its free, if you know the reg. no. it will give you some basic info. e.g. when registered, colour, no. owners and the BHP (it does on the 1.8T models anyway) I used this to check out if a 1.8T that was advertised as 190BHP really was, its amazing the amount of people that think theirs is 190, when in fact its only 163. Check it out. Hope this is of some help to you.
