I'm considering a remap or bluefin type tuning box for my C7.
I've read through most of the threads here about the bluefin and other box/maps, but there's not much about using them on a multitronic.
Anyone used a box or had a remap on the CVT?
What are your thoughts?

I've got the DTUK CRDT+ on my 2012 204ps Multitronic and it performs well. You could get more power with a map, but that would give the gearbox excessive stress. The additional torque is the main concern with these gearboxes. With the CRDT+ unit you get decent horsepower but with modest levels of torque that suits there multitronic perfectly, plus you can always remove the unit and have it reprogrammed to suit your next car.
Regarding mpg. Both a map and the tuning unit will improve you economy by at least 5 mpg.

Thanks jcdub,
That's good to hear, I read though lots of fluf both on superchips and TDI-tuning websites, there is testimonials about the 3.0tdi but nothing about the CVT.
One mapping company I spoke to wanted the car for the day to work on the control of the transmission too, it was a multi mapping package, about £550 I think.

Has the blue fin before, wander impressed by it. You wouldn't know it was on the car unless you had the car in sport mode. Plus they have to initially remove the ECU to change the security to enable it to work.

The bluefin is on sale right now but is still a bit more expensive than the DTUK unit.
Did you buy yours and just play with it yourself or go to their place in Chelmsford?

As I live in Ireland I didn't have the opportunity to call to DTUK and get it setup by them, but in saying that the fitting of the unit is straight forward and only takes 15 minutes. It's the running of the cables to make it look neat and tidy that takes most of the time. I find 1 +1 is the smoothest setting. The power is the same across the 3 programs. It's just how it's delivered that differs. Program 2 makes the car feel more responsive to the throttle at low speeds but I found it didn't feel as responsive as program 1 on the motorway.
