A4 B8 window switches

Hi all
I'm going to be doing the folding mirror retrofit in a few weeks, got the mirrors & the drivers door switch panel & switches should be here in a day or 2.
My question is, the new switch panel comes with the chrome edged switched whereas my current ones are the plain black. Are the chrome ones compatible with my 2011 A4? Also are the passenger door & rear doors the same switch (Ie the same part number) or are they specific switches for each door as would like to replace them so they are all the chrome type.

Did you buy genuine switches? They aren't that dear.

Do you have up to date VCDS? Did you check the compatibility of your door controllers as not all support folding mirrors.

Hi Chris.
How do I check the compatibility of my door controllers?
I've not got the switches yet, wanted to make sure the chrome & black versions are interchangeable.
I will have VCDS very soon.

They'll be fine, it's only visual changes.

If you bought the £40 Chinese set off eBay they may or may not work compatibility wise.

Is your VCDS genuine? If so then when it arrives tell us the part number of your front door controllers.

I'm going to get genuine switches.
I have a non genuine VCDS at present, waiting for payday to get the genuine version.
The info I can see for the door controllers it-
Drivers door- VAG number 8K0 959 793 N Component TSG FA H12 0357
Passenger door- VAG Number 8K0 959 792N Component TSG BF H12 0357

I have tried fitting the mirrors & had the coding done by a friend with VCDS but am unable to get the mirrors to fold. They do work as I have applied a 12v feed to the appropriate pins & they operate.
Looking on ETKA the latest modules are 8K0 959 792/3M, would these work?

Cant say by fact, but looks like N is not ok, but M is! Your module has those pins which needed for wiring(module pinout)?
