Hello I'm new to this forum,

Last week I purchased a 2009 audi a6 2.0.

The engine management light is on and when my mechanic checked it came out to be inlet manifold flap.

He took the manifold apart and the flap seems to be fine just dirty, after a good clean and engine light reset I drove home and on way the light is on again.

Can anyone advice me on what's the best fix

Many thanks

Was error P2108 by any chance?

Sorry can't remember the code I'll have to find out, I've read on forums that it could be a fuse.

There is an issue with throttle actuator sometimes. They are about £200. Mine is playing up lately

Yes that's the part he said was really dirty, took ages to clean.

You can drive with it, but engine might judder. Either way you need new part, cleaning won't help for long as internal plastic part is worn too much and it's un replaceable . ECP sells original Siemens made part for £229.99 , but look for 20-30% sale code, plenty of them lately.

If thats the part he had off to clean, i'd expect to have to replace it, i've had to change two of them on 1.9 pd engines i've had. There are a couple of tracks and sliding contacts inside the pressed cover that seem to feed back flap position to the ecu and they looked to be goosed on the ones i replaced ( when i dissected them) really burnt and dusty inside.
Is your engine not a common rail with the manifold swirl flaps and motor though, ? maybe it also has this intake throttle / anti shudder flap as pictured by voidmar as well.?

Tayyib1993,

Did you buy the can from a trader or private?

If from a trader then return the car as by law the trader has to cover a six month returns period.

The trader should fix it as the car is faulty goods if only a week or so ago you bought it.

If private then you have to fix it.

As said above that is not the swirl flap motor as it fits on to the inlet manifold.

That is the EGR valve.

Replaced mine today. Took me approx 1 hour to replace, but can easily be done in 30minutes. T30 torx and flat screwdriver all you need. 3 bolts and 1 cable to unplug. Error gone. Drove it around for couple of hours. Scan also shown no errors. Happy me!
