Hello Everyone

First time poster.

I've been a VW Polo owner since 2003, its a 16v 5 door. Don't drive many miles- less than 3k - but that doesn't stop me having problems the car:D

My interior light (on the central panel won't switch off) on the passenger side. Same problem happened with the driver's side which was taken out.

I'd like to know how can i take the panel of to remove the bulb. I believe some one posted something similar but still unable to take out.

I attach a picture which may help.

I think the light not switching off is slowly draining the battery.

If all fails, it'll have to go back to the garage.

Many thanks in advance.

Could be faulty micro-switches in the door locks with car thinking the door is open when it's not, or faulty/corroded contacts in the interior light unit.
For the hassle involved, and the age/value of your car maybe just pull the bulb.

Hello rowdy-999

Thanks for replying.

I used the advice given by legendamongus to a previous poster; I simply removed the bulb and fingers crossed, it works.

Strangely, I've recently changed the passenger door lock as it wouldn't open with the key fob, following that the problem started with the light, so maybe you're onto something.

Once again, than you for replying.
