Hi,

Just taken delivery of a new C7 Ultra Black Edition Avant and have had it a few days now.

I seem to have a few issues, which are probably down to a setting, or me.

When I first drove it and selected reverse, the passenger wing mirror would dip for reversing. This no longer happens - is it a setting?

Also, I've come from a VW Touareg which has a lot of the same systems and tech. The VW would automatically initiate the front and rear parking sensors when moving forward at low speed (under 10mph) - my C7 doesn't seem to do this. In the Touareg I seem to recall this being a setting somewhere, but can't find this in the C7. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andy

Wing mirror adjuster knob needs to be on passenger mirror position to activate kerb function.

I've not found a setting that activates the front sensors at low speeds - i think mine only activates front sensors having already selected reverse.

Other than these, hope you're enjoying the car!

Thanks for the answers robes401

The car is great thanks. Missing the power of the Touareg, but I've bought this for better economy. The build quality and handling is much better though and the car looks great.

Yeah - wing mirror dial on drivers door - you need it to be set to passenger side for passenger wing mirror to do the kerb view, middle position is auto mirror demist (heated mirrors) and driver side is 'neutral'.

If you want parking sensors whilst driving into a parking space or whatever then hit the button on the dash although it will disengage above 10 mph or so.

Well you learn something every day. I have an early C7 and didn't even realise that it had the kerb view function as I've always left it set to demist. I can't believe I have to choose between demist or kerb view and not have both activated - or have I misunderstood?

No your spot on, its a choice you have to make :- however.... De-mist consumes power/fuel, so, leaving it in Demist all the time leaves it to increase fuel consumption.

This can be confirmed if you switch to the power consumption page in the dash screen, and it is listed, when in the demist position. Its a mute point though as the consumption is only small.

I happily leave mine on the kerb side position, and turn it to demist for the first 5 minutes or so of the morning commute.

This annoys the hell out of me as well.
Previous cars I've owned including vw the demist on mirrors come on when the heated rear window is on so why can't the a6 be like this.
