Just wondered if it's normal for the car to "slightly" drop some suspension height after it has been parked for a few days? I keep the suspension in "Auto "mode. Also, once I park the car within the first minute or so, you can hear a bit of air being release... I assumed that the suspension adjusts itself to " park" mode if such a thing exists.

I've not noticed any discernible change in ride height after parking although there are occasions when after removing something heavy from the boot (80 kg of dogs) you can hear the suspension hissing. Some settling seems to take place fairly soon after parking, but I don't know if it continues perhaps affected by temperature changes/ ambient pressure etc.

I think mine stays fairly level (I leave it in Auto for the most part) but I DO hear truck like purges of air occasionally when I park the car.

From what I gather there is a pressure chamber somewhere under the back of the car that the compressor keeps primed at some pressure to enable the car to provide rapid (but minor) adjustments to the air suspension if needed - I think that is the source of the sounds like truck brake purges occasionally.

As Splash says I am sure that some settling occurs - especially in warm weather such as we've had - where the air in the system cools and the system is inactive so it cannot recover until the car is started again.

Pretty sure it is nothing to worry about .

Both of the actions you describe are completely normal behaviour for air suspension. After parking up the car may adjust itself to self-level.

Air-suspended cars can also settle over time when not used - but obviously the car shouldn't drop right down on its haunches, and one corner shouldn't drop more than the others, either. Minor settling is normal, though.

Sometimes, when I look out a my parked car after it has been standing for a week or two, it has acquired a "slammed" look and I toy with the idea of posting photos of it on the RS6 forum because some people on there like to see pictures of cars that look like the springs are knackered.

I have a 2014 Allroad A6 and i noticed the suspension settles when left and i hear the pressure release. I've had the car over a year now and it's been like that since i've owned it and there are no apparant issues with it. As far as i know the car's system monitors the suspension height and adjusts to suit so it's just the car sorting itself out.
