Hi all,

Very quick question, ive purchased some update disks to do my mmi and in my haste I think I've purchased the wrong version.

I have received version 8k0 998 961 and believe these are for the A4/A5. Can these be used on my A6 or do I really need the correct version?

Thanks.

You need the 4L0 version. Did you buy them from Audi?

I phoned my local Audi and they said no such update disk existed! I told them it did and gave them all the information but they weren't having any of it. They were absolutely adamant that my car was up to date.

So I purchased them of eBay and they are genuine disks, unfortunately I was going out at the time and just clicked buy. I have read elsewhere that they may work as its the same system across multiple cars, but I have also read conflicting posts that state it wont so I wanted to double check.

If its wrong ill just return it and make sure I get the correct version. It would have been a pretty good buy as they also came with updated maps.

They won't work, as the control head on the A4/A5 is a different MU version you need the correct version you match your control head! https://a6retrofit.com/mmi-software-update-4l0-998-961-5570-5-5-70/

Just buy them from the dealer or TPS the CD's are only a few pound.
