hi all,
following replacing the clutch ive had a problem with starting my car, it seems to start fine when cold, but when up to temperature and left for 5-10 mins or even 45 mins, when i come to start it again it just turns over for about 10-20 seconds before starting with a little puff of white smoke. once running it is perfect.
i have had the car for approximately 6 months and never had a problem with starting or running. last week i accidentally put in 2 gallons of petrol but luckily i noticed straight away and before driving off i filled the rest up with diesel of about 10-12 gallons.
i have checked the fuel lift pump by taking off the pipe on the fuel filter and switching on the ignition and check a good flow of fuel, i have blown with an air line down the feed and return to the fuel tank to check if i had damaged a pipe when changing the clutch with hope of seeing a drip on the floor to no avail. i have also read on a different thread that you can check the hot start by unplugging the coolant temperature sensor and trying to start when up to temperature, this made no difference.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
