Has anybody had to call Audi Road side assistance when driving in Europe?

i'be interested in hearing peoples experiences on how Audi dealt with their problems (logistics , not being fixed at roadside etc)

(Assuming the vehicle(s) were under manufacturers warranty)

many thanks

Hi, I found the Audi Road side assistance service most helpful when I clipped the kerb in Luxembourg on my way to Bad Homburg in Germany which pushed the front offside wheel into the bodywork at the end of April 2016 in my S6 Avant. The assistance service is organised on Audi's behalf by the AA who arranged for the car to be collected by ACL and taken to their Luxembourg depot.

After about 2 hours the ACL Recovery Truck arrived and took my wife and I + boot full of luggage to ACL's garage where a hire car would await us ACL then took the car to the secure compound at the Luxembourg Audi Main Dealer.

I insisted that the hire car had Sat Nav and the Recovery Truck driver told the hire company that we would need a larger car than the small Fiat that had been envisaged. In the end we were given a Ford Fiesta City which was adequate but not the same driving experience as the S6!

We returned the hire car back to ACL in Luxembourg 5 days later, stayed at our expense in a Luxembourg Hotel near the main Railway Station, and caught the train back to the UK the next morning as the S6 needed extensive mechanical work.

Overall the Assistance Service worked well other than the choice of car, the ACL and Audi Luxembourg staff were most helpful, but finding out if the car was quickly repairable in Luxembourg took several days.

My insurance company took over decisions about the repairs and after several weeks had the car brought back to my local Audi Main Dealer for repair. By a coincidence I finally collected the S6 today, just over 3 months since it was damaged.
