Oil leak

Hi there looking for some help I have a mrk4 golf 110 bhp and every time I start the car engine oil ****** out what looks like between the gear box and the sump but it's 100% engine oil but not sure what's broken

oil around that area is likely caused by a knackered crankcase oil seal this leaks into the gearbox bell housing then drips out. This will more then likely be contaminating the clutch plate with oil.

I agree with above, it's more than likely. Gearbox, clutch, flywheel off job to change it. Seal is around the £30-£40 mark iirc from places like ECP. Depending on mileage/history if you do it it may be worth doing clutch and DMF while your there. Not cheap but you only want to do it once. (Done my Passat twice, not fun...)

On the plus side, the usual Vw sticky starter motor will be nicely freed up on your car [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
