I've got version 12.12
When plugged into the laptop, the light is red on the cable. Drivers are all present on the laptop and device manager recognises it, and i can see the software recognises it.
When i connect it to my car (A7 2013), the light turns green but the software doesnt recognise it is connected.

Do I need to put the car into a particular menu? does the engine need to be running?

I'm simply trying to enable the green screen to start with...

cheers,
Paul.

This is your issue. Buy genuine and you won't have any issues.

Argh right.

It come with the car Chris, I didn't buy it separately. It looked genuine to me, hence me asking the question.
I'm new to VCDS and Audi (as per my introduction), just starting to get familiar with tinkering in the Audi.
I'll do more research then I guess.
