Good morning pizzaboy150,

What is your engine code? The Audi parts catalogue calls PCV a "ventilation" or "breather" hose.

There's two catalogue pages for 1.8L (I don't know which is turbo and non-turbo):

Engine codes ADR, APT, ARG, AVV, AFY, APU, ANB, AJL: http://etka.cc/audi/part_single/catalog/au/markt/RDW/modell/A4/year/1999/drive_standart/223/hg_ug/103/subcategory/103090/part_id/262161/lang/e#sec_20

Engine code AWT: --><!-- (http://etka.cc/audi/part_single/catalog/au/markt/RDW/modell/A4/year/1999/drive_standart/223/hg_ug/103/subcategory/103094/part_id/262161/lang/e)

I hope this helps. Happy motoring.

well thats poo its beneath the inlet manifold so that will be fiddly to change thank you! Though looking at the breather valve my engine code is APT and the breather valve is Model data: APU,ANB,AJL?

Ah bummer, it does say the part number is for engines APU, ANB, AJL. Little search on the website by clicking the part number reveals that it's also for AEB engine, but doesn't specify its for APT.

You may need to google a bit more to make sure you get the right part number for your APT engine.

Good luck!

Okay so i have ordered a new PCV valve and that is coming in about a week just ran it with the oil cap off and it is pumping smoke out the rocker cover. I am a little worried that it maybe a worn ring or rings. So i am going to do a compression test tonight with my new compression tester.

What I don't know is what should be a reasonable compression for a 150K miles car???? thinking 160-170psi but not sure, engine is APT 1.8L NA
