I have now had my multitronic a year and on the whole very happy with it.

I notice the other day that (in sport mode), pulling away with throttle floored, it would rev to approx 4500, then drop back to approx 3800, climb back to 4500 and drop back again, just as if a conventional auto box.

It went well but it wasn't what I expected a CVT to do !

Any comments anyone, is it really CVT or something else ?

It is CVT, but in Sport and manual mode it uses preprogrammed settings to make it feel like a conventional box with fixed gears

The 2.0TDI C7 with a CVT is a fantastic cruiser. So smooth a low speeds. Its a joy to drive.
