in my opinion, no.
you'll only hear it on stone cold start and it literally will be a distinct rattle.
been there done that got the t-shirt, it was the reason i sold my 2008.

I had to replace my timing chain on my former 4F/3.0, but it sounded a lot worse when I started the car. It sounded something like this: Audi a6 3.2 v6 quattro 2005 startup noise before upper chain tensioner replacement - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kChoxoRtpM) for a short period of time after the ignition.

Of course it's going to sound louder with the bonnet open ...

Of course if you open it, then you will miss the sound-proofing. For me, the engine sounds quite normal, however it seems to me, that there could be a little timing chain problem at the very beginning. In my car this sound level was treated as "normal", and I had to replace the timing chain later. However if that sound, which you can hear right after the ignition will be worse, then I suggest to check the engine. To change a timing chain is a costly thing, however it's far cheaper than to replace the engine.

Can any of you post a video of the sound where they are not failing ?

Completely normal. No hint of chain rattle.
Stop stressing. Regular quality oil changes and the engine will outlast the chassis.

sounds normal, as above stop stressing out. When it happens it will be a distinct noise.

Unfortunately this isn't true. I serviced mine every 10k, doing 30k a year using Quantum LL3 and genuine filters and mine rattled at around 135k. Ended up selling it. It was a 2008 ASB engine too.

But there's plenty of 3.0s with double that mileage with no issues.

My BMK engine is on 210K miles, and has a slight rattle at start-up, was going to get all the chains/tensioners done this year but I'm putting off now until next year, it's not got any worse and has been like that for a few years.

The tensioners are operated by oil pressure, so i would say a slight rattle on start up is normal. A rattle at any other time would be a concern.
