I have a A4 2004 1.9 TDI SE 96kW. Air con and climate control in the same unit. I cant find a garage that could diagnose what the fault is. There are those who don`t want to do it or those who can`t promise anything but to take my money. My mechanic suggested to start with the easy stuff and go to the scrap yard and get another unit to test if it is not the units fault(they do break), but at the scrap yard they asked for £50 full stop. No trying, no nothing.
I was wondering if anybody around Wolverhampton and Birmingham could help me out and let me connect they're console to my AC system ? It would take no more that 15 minutes. 31061
EDIT: 1) The Econ light was constantly on. The system was filled up at Halfords. They told me there is no cold air coming due to the fan not kicking in. other mechanics said that the fan does not have to kick in straight away when you turn AC on - gas has to warm up(2-3 mins) before the fan has to cool it down. MAKES SENSE.
If the gas is not circulating the temp or pressure gauge thinks there is no need to cool it down.
2) 2 days after refill i went back to check system pressure and it is still holding. Econ light has not come back on. I read it does that if there is a fault in the system to prevent damaging components(Econ light on = AC off).
3) The shaft hat connects pulley and pistons in the compressor is turning.
