Afternoon all,

In a couple of months my 2012 A6 is due a service. My question is do I go for an interim service for £200 or do I go for the major service for £400. The car is currently at 62k and by time it goes for a service will be closer to 70k. Im wanting the gearbox oil changed anyways so I know its been done.
Or is it worth doing it all myself so I know that all the filters have been changed and fluids.

BTW its a 3.0tdi multitronic

The car should indicate which service is due. When did you have the last major service?

going through the receipts and service book its set up for 20k services. The car says it needs and oil change in 3400 miles and a service in 3800 miles or 345 days. I have only owned the car since January. It last had the multitronic oil changed at 37k so I know that's about due

So you are as well getting the major service to reset both. The gearbox could wait as it won't be due for 9 or 10 k more. I would be tempted to do the filters yourself and supply the oil for the service to save some money if you want a main dealer stamp. If you aren't bothered, do the servicing yourself.
