for this you must activate VIM with VCp or OBDeleven.......

Recently driving an A4 and noticed there is a screen in the virtual cockpit that lists energy consumers. Never seen this on the Q7 4M, wondering if it is in a newer firmware or something that can be enabled in vcds?

Pretty sure I’ve seen that on my May 16 build Q7? Will check later

I have it on my car. Using the left-roller wheel on the steering-wheel, should bring it up.

I'm pretty sure I have it on my Sep '15 Q7, so either it's something I've enabled with OBDEleven (don't remember doing this, but I did about everything I could think of last year, so it's possible I've just forgot about it) or it could be related to firmware; I have firmware 0976, got this updated by the dealer last year from the original 0358. What firmware version are you at?

Yeah had it on my 2015 Q7 also...use the rocker as described above and flick through the menus - long term consumption, short term etc etc then you’ll see the energy consumption stuff

Yeah it's there as standard. Use right rocker to bring up 'additional display' and choose the option I think?
Edit : Right rocker on the left side buttons on the wheel

Probably not all cars produced in 2015 have this option. My Q7 produced July 2015 doesn't have it. Do you think that there is a possibility to call this function via coding?

Mine is the same as Ragebe's.... use the left thumbwheel to scroll up / down to get to Energy Consumers then as you flick stuff on and off like heated seats they show up etc.
nbedford - Your 0976 is your MMI firmware, not your VC cockpit firmware. Should be above 0280.

Andy,
I still think that some cars from early production don’t have it. My wife’ new A5 has it, my Q7 from 2015 doesn’t.
The question is if we can activate this function via coding?
Best regards.

Enable Ability to lock car with Engine running
Description: By Default Q7 (4M) cars can't be locked via the lock button on the keyfob or the button on the door (if you have convenience key) if the engine is running. This change enables the car to be locked while the engine is running. This is useful to say, for example warm the car up but keep it locked on your driveway.
Notes: If you having folding mirrors, they do not retract once you lock the car.
Usage: Once configured start car engine, get out car and lock. Engine will remain running.
Risk: Low.

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a 2018 Q7 in NAR, and have been reading the thread and have made some coding changes via VCDS (Thanks Andy)
I have found the coding to turn off the front amber side marker lights and how to turn on rear tail lights with DLR's.
If anyone is interested in the changes I can post up once I can access the data from the computer.
Has anyone found a way to keep Auto main beam on all the time (so it comes on when needed), rather then switching it on everytime you want to use it?
and the same for the all weather lights?
Thanks

Hi Rich,
I absolutely dislike the screen staying up even though its off. I work at an Audi dealership in USA and grabbed coding from numerous Q7's that had 360 camera and same mmi system and screens that went down when button is pressed. I compared coding, made coding changes on my Q7 (from what I found the coding was the same except the last BYTE (BE/FE), which is the same in the coding you added), from the coding changes I made there is no way to have the screen go down. It cannot be done with coding, its a software issue as far as I know. I have the same thing when in VCDS and in 5F, the screen goes down then power button is pressed, as soon as you exit it no longer does it.
Unless I missed something.
Thanks

I believe there is an "app" in ODBEleven to do this now for 10 credits or so?
I have the coding.. will find time to update main page.
---------------------
FYI - I have no issue people asking for if something is possible or not or if I've got the answers - yeah sure, everything is trial and error and takes up personal time to find it but at the same token its something like others that I enjoy doing. Its the way my brain is programmed. I'll always do my best to help where I can, but I dont unfortunately have all the time in the world to figure stuff out quickly as I'd, or others would like.
I have heaps of coding to do stuff, but I only post things on this forum on the first page I'm happy to share for "free". That is because some stuff takes a long time to figure out, and as the cars get more complex there are even different permutations of coding to achieve the same thing. So sometimes I can't post something as it only would work for a subset of car variants and no doubt someone would try it on their car, cause a problem and I'll get asked more questions. So its a balance.
On a side note to this, I get loads of PM's asking me to send every part number and coding list to retrofit something. I must get 1 or 2 every couple of days from all over the world. I'm forever clearing out my forum inbox. I kindly decline and offer my help at a small cost if that is what they want. It weens out the leechers to the people that are more serious and I've had many successes as a result and happy people. On the flip side I've had people share stuff with me, for free, because yes, even I ask people for info... I'm the first to say I dont know everything, so of course its give-and-take.
I'll continue to update this thread as and when because given the number of views it has had, I could get lynched if I don't :D.
Not trying to start any argument or similar, but just my 2p.
Cheers

I took delivery of my Q7 with more than 100km on the clock as it was put in service a few months back and had been driven by some execs, so can't change this but just more out of curiosity...
If one were to mod this, could one mod it back and forth if the initial change was done prior to 100km?

You can mod it "back and forth" while the car is under 100Km, but as soon as it crosses that mark, then whatever the last setting was applied will then stick permanently.

1. Disable winking of DRL on turn signal.
2. Start in ADS mode from shutdown, i.e. if in dynamic mode when starting car transmission will be in ‘S’. If in auto will start in ‘D’.

Hi
Is it possible to change the ambient light colours for the different driving modes so that when you choose interior lighting based on driving mode it will have other colours than the default ones?
Would be nice to have:
lift / offroad = yellow
allroad = pink
efficiency = green
comfort = white
auto = blue
dynamic = red
Thanks

I think DRL Winking can be done via ODBeleven "app" which means its just a basic coding change somewhere in Module 09 if I recall. I know I havent posted anything on first page about this, but I'm sure its in this thread somewhere.

Good question actually. Question: If you dont have full multi-colour Ambient lighting does changing the drive select modes change the standard "white" colour to different ones as you flick through the different Drive Select modes (auto/comfort/dynamic etc)? I assume not, but thought I'd ask because if it did there could be a route there that means its just datasets and coding.
Otherwise, yes, you need different LED modules in trim strips that light up to support the full colour spectrum (and that is also extra wires).

It's possible that Audi fit the same LED strip in all specs and code for it to be single colour. But if single-colour strips are cheaper to buy that multi-colour, Audi's bean-counters will have gone the single colour route.
I'll be calling Southampton Audi today, as they're price-matching on tyres; I'll ask about an upgrade quote to multi-colour.

ok, then yes, the LED modules behind that strip are physically different. You have just a single colour (white) one, and the multi colour ones are different LED's entirely. It can be done (it has been done). You then need to parameterise your module to update them to include the colour palette info too.

Hi all,
It seems, that I will replace my A6/C7 with a nonFL Q7 soon. I've just read the entire topic, and currently I have a doubt: am I right, that currently the Obdeleven is the best solution to make the tips and tricks? It seems to me, that the VIM in itself requires this tool, while no other trick requires any other coding device.
Am I right on this?
Also, am'I understand well, that if I will do the coding referred in this section on my own, than I will not need any credit?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello.
Just beware that VIM works on models with software version up to 975 (or thereabouts).
If you get the car with newer software then the VIM will not work. The guys at OBD11 are still apparently working on the fix but thus far they had no luck.
I know because I used to have 16 reg Q7 and VIM worked but when I changed to SQ7 in may 2018 (software version 1107, I think) it didn't.
And it still does not work.

Hello.
Just beware that VIM works on models with software version up to 975 (or thereabouts).
If you get the car with newer software then the VIM will not work. The guys at OBD11 are still apparently working on the fix but thus far they had no luck.

Welcome!
This is probably the cheapest option and most user friendly for casual coders. I have been able to do all the changes I wanted to do with it and without credits.
I didn’t try VIM though.
Agree with srb here - however I have used credits for a couple of the things as it was literally a click of the button. You get 5 free credits daily by opening the app and watching 4x30 second adverts.
I think I have something like 2000 credits but haven’t opened the app in ages.

Key thing for anyone considering it is take you time, take screen shots before you make changes so you know how to go back [emoji3]
These are the ones I’ve got configured:
- CD Ripping enabled
- ACC distance
- Switch off speed for park assist - was 10, now 20
- Beep on lock/unlock enabled
- Enable lock when engine running

Yes... it is SQ, albeit she's still white so no need to change the avatar.
Must admit that last year was quite challenging for me so I wasn't participating too much here (although still kept an eye on things).
Now life has somewhat settled so hopefully I'll be able to contribute here more often.
Greets everyone!!!
Just beware that VIM works on models with software version up to 975 (or thereabouts).
Thank you for the information, will check the MMI version first. Do you know, what happens if I set the VIM first, and only later the MMI SW update? Will I loose the VIM in this case, or in this case will it work on?

Never did the software update myself. But I'm pretty certain that it will wipe the VIM.
My previous Q7(4M) went in for service and they had to do an update due to the issues I had with the car. That process had reverted the car to its factory settings wiping out all adjustments I made via OBD11. Didn't have VIM back then yet.
Thanks for the info.
Sad news... but that's life.
Honestly I will never understand why they spent a lots of money to invent a quite usable videoplayer while they don't allow the owners to use it...

It's not a code (coding) but some software alteration that OBD11 can do to MMI software up to v.1000.
I do admit that it can be very distracting. Although kids loved it at the time. Now, two years on kids got their own tablets/phones it is not an issue anymore so I'm not too bothered by lack of VIM.
See the screenshot of the app.

Perhaps this is the solution for VIM. They claim that it works also with models 2018 and above.

Congrats on the SQ7 Wolek.
So in the newer cars the Mmis are qualcomm based where as the older ones are nvidia based. This change caused the VIM changes.
Vcp can do VIM on the newer mmis..
There is no simple 'coding change' to enable VIM. It makes changes deep(er) in the OS on the unit.

AndyFor my 2019 US model.
I went into central electronics (09), then coding (07)-long coding helper.
It's under Byte 3, which should read 2B once you make the change.
I checked bit 3 for "SI & DRL active"
Then in the drop down under Bit 5-7 I selected the "20 DRL at indication config dimming".
This appears to dim the DRL to 20% when you indicate instead of turning it off entirely. Also the taillights are always on now. There were a few other selections in that drop down that may keep the DRLs brighter but I didn't have time test those combinations.

Thanks Keebler21
Its under Byte 2 for reference
In the UK, we have "sl_at_drl,active" enabled from factory so when we indicator the DRL's just "dim" by default. I guess in the US its different.
Our Bits 5-7 are set to "00 drl_at_indication_config,full_available". Ill see which combo keeps the taillights always on. Thats a good one to have.

Hello everyone - new forum member here. :)
Would anyone here possibly know the correct coding to disable the automatic rear wiper when Reverse gear is selected with the front wipers activated? The automatic rear wiper function can be a pain if the front wiper control is left in the "Auto" mode position (for example) and there's no need for a wipe of the rear window -- particularly for those times when it's not raining and the rear window is dry!
As ref.. here's a link to a same-topic thread posted in the AudiWorld Q5 MKI (8R) forum back in 2016:

Hello,
I have electric seats in my audi Q7 4m but withoust memmory. I was trying to code easy entry mod from the first page but without sucess (I get random passenger seat movment when opening the doors, but I still do not know what is "the thing" that start easy entry on passenger side. On the driver side there is no movement - never :( - I have the option enabeled in mmi
Mybe some ideas (btw symmetry mod is working)?
Is there mybe any mod to enable memmory via key fob? this way I would be able to set the seat adjustment if I would have one key and my wife the spare key.
Hope someone helps and have a great weekend

Hello. I have both seats with memory and electrical steering wheel with Easy entry function. But this function is not working always the same. For example, if I set my seat in a back position when I stop the engine only steering wheel is moving up. But, if I set my seat in a front position, when I stop the engine my seat is moving back and steering wheel is going up. So, I think there has to be a prestored target value for steering wheel and seat position called Easy entry. So when needed computer read actual position of seat and steering wheel and aply changes until both of them reach Easy entry position. If I set on my car the upper position for steering wheel and a back position for my seat, when I stop the engine nothing is mooving because both are allready in required position. Hope you understand what I mean.

Hello dentimarius,
Thanks for quick replay. I know how easy entry function works, since my parents have new touareg with memory seats and easy entry function, so I know about the limitations that you mentioned in your post. In my case I think is just different coding setting, since I have no memory funciton in my car or mybe here is also some hardware missing. I read almost the whole thread about this funciton but every single post that I found about this function it was about the car that has at least driver memory seats. So my question is if there is anyone who managed this function to work and have no memory seats in his car or maybe know where is the catch in the coding or just to tell me for fact, that this is not possible to work in my case due to hardware limitations. :)
I also looked in the coding of the 09 central electric->byte 14 in the touareg, and find that there were some extra bits ticked and did the same in my car but without sucess.

It may be a software bug because. You activated a part of software that was not created to work on your car and this why it may have several bugs. And, this bugs will not be ever solved... And one more reason for you to understand your problem: your car doesn't have electrical steering wheel, it doesn't have memory for seats, doesn't have full setup buttons for front seats.....so it doesn't many hardware parts missing. Maybe this hardware missing parts represent software bug in some circumstances.
For example, soft close function. This software has some bugs that allow door computers to 'sleep' in some special circumstances. Even after last software update the system is not 100% properly work. Still is a software bug unsolved.
Hope you got it...

Is there anybody in or around Birmingham that could do a bit of coding on my Q7 4M?
I don’t expect it for free and am willing to pay.
Things I’d like done, if possible, are :-
Needle sweep on startup (VC).
Lock car with engine running.
Energy consumers.
Taillight LED with DRL’s.
Boot close with keyfob.
Video in motion.
I’m sure there are more, but these are the ones I can think of now.

Hi.

Andy - Hi, thanks for the information regarding evo platform or q7 4M. Most of my codings are done for MQB, PQ vw, skoda, seat. So yesterday i wanted to look at what people have done to their Q7's. I red all 61 pages in this topic and i got everything working what was needed.
Remote open/close tailgate.
chrips, beeps, tuuts.
DLR option to MMi
ACC options to MMi
etc.
And now the thing that I wanted to talk about.
Enable Easy Entry for Drivers Seat
Description: By Default Q7 (4M) cars that have the electric steering column option, the drivers seat will move back automatically when the car is turned off and the drivers door is opened to allow easy exit of the vehicle. In addition, when unlocking the car and opening the drivers door the drivers seat will move back to allow easy entry and upon starting the car the seat will move forward back to the last position. If you have Convenience/Advanced Key and Driver Memory seats then when you start the car the seat will move to whatever memory recall is stored on the key used to unlock the car (linked with button 1 or 2 of the driver memory seat buttons in the door trim). This change enables this feature when the electric steering column is not installed.
Notes: This has not been tested on a Q7 4M without driver memory seat buttons, but it should work. Also, you may find the Easy Entry option "greyed out" in the mmi. If so, lock the car, wait 30 seconds then unlock and try the menu option again.
Usage: Once configured get out at lock the car and wait 30 seconds, go back into car and start electrics, you should see Easy Entry option under "Vehicle Settings / Seats / Drivers Seat". Make sure its ticked.
Risk: Low.

What I found yesterday...
You need to enable 4-5 adaptions in MMI to get the seat to move back. Oh and the car I worked on did not have memory buttons on the door but seat modules were accessible (Using Hex-Net).
So the 2 codings in 09 and 36 are correct. What you could try, siis to enable adaptions:
5F
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_after_disclaimer
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_clamp_15_off
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_over_threshold_hig h
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_standstill
Activate all, reboot MMi. tick entry assist. Enjoy:)
I think that After disclaimer and Standstill is not needed, but i haven't had my time with the car to test it.

Anybody I would highly appreciate if you would share the coding for the front door modules, driver and passenger in order to have memory side view mirrors?
I guess it should be a bit on each control unit.

You mean you had the dual zone clima unit and you bought the 4 zone clima unit?
Your missing tubes under the carpet, fans, sensors and all sorts. Not just the front unit.
You need to also swap the rear seat unit too and that needs an extra loom.
The front also needs a 3rd connector and wiring loom and you need to remove Component Protection too.

I don’t think anyone did this retrofit before. Plus the vents from the side pillars.
What I’m curious if it’s possible to retrofit the climate control panel for the 3/4 zones to the stands 2 zones without having obvious errors. I would do this retrofit since the control unit from the 3/4 zones looks way nicer.

Hi , thnks for your replies. I sent a car and passed component protection with ODIS online account but unlucky. Panel is activated but can not control the blowing , temperature etc. Half is blowing hot half cold. So i decided to return factory dual zone control. 4 zone panel looks much more better but it was impossible to adapt it.

Hello,
I also checked those adaptation and it was all set to enable, but still get no easy entry funciton (I am trying to code my seats without any memory funcition on the car eather on driver or passenger side).
Hope there is an option to enable it on my car, since easy entry function lika already said randomly works on the passenger side (some times it is not working at all, some times the seat only comes back, but not return to the original position, sometimes it works like it should, going back and returning to the original position).
Have a great day.

Seat Symmetry + Passenger Seat Control
Description: For Q7 (4M) cars that have BOTH Driver and Passenger memory seats installed (with the buttons in the doors) you can make both the drivers seat and passenger seat "line up" so they are symmetrical. In addition, you can move the passenger seat using the seat movement buttons on the drivers seat. This change enables these features if you have ONLY Driver Memory Seat installed
Notes: Not been tested on Q7 4M cars that have neither driver or driver/passenger memory seats installed but it should work. You need to do the SAME coding in Modules 06 and 36.
Usage: Once coded, go into MMI, Car / Vehicle Settings / Seats. A new option for Passenger Seat will have appeared. There will be 2 options inside. One to line both front seats up together, and the other to move the passenger seat with the driver seat movement buttons

Audi changed the seat wiring from 2018 models onwards. If you didn't order passenger memory seats from factory then they didn't install the seat module under the seat.(module 06)
Take a look under your driver seat. On the underside of the seat you'll see a box with plugs in it. (Module 36). Now go look under your passenger seat, there won't be one.

Risk: Low.

This is not all that is needed.
What I found yesterday...
You need to enable 4-5 adaptions in MMI to get the seat to move back. Oh and the car I worked on did not have memory buttons on the door but seat modules were accessible (Using Hex-Net).
So the 2 codings in 09 and 36 are correct. What you could try, siis to enable adaptions:
5F
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_after_disclaimer
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_clamp_15_off
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_over_threshold_hig h
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_standstill

Depends what year the car is, but yes it can be enabled without adding anything, however you wont have the button to turn it on / off unless you swap your steering stalk.

Hello Andy.
Did you find how to disable automatic rear wiper?
merc_320
14-02-2021, 04:57 PM
I tried to do this (below) on VAG-COM - but it messed up the rear heated seats, whenever they were pressed it would switch off after 10 seconds (SQ7 MY18) any ideas or solutions? I have reverted the coding back and the heated seats are fine now but would like to get this mod to work.
Disable Child Lock on Rear Heating Controls when Child Lock buttons enabled in Drivers door
Description: For Q7 (4M) cars that have the "Deluxe" rear heating controls (in the middle between the front seats with the LCD display etc), if you have the Child Lock buttons switched on via the driver's door buttons to stop the rear doors from being opened from the inside, this also disables the rear heating controls from being used. Instead when you attempt to use them a "Padlock" symbol is displayed. This change disables that so the rear doors can still be child lock "protected" but the rear heating controls will work.
Notes: Only tested on the "Deluxe" rear heating controls with the LCD screen and the red/blue heater controls.
Usage: Enable the Child Lock buttons on the drivers door trim by the window up/down controls and the rear doors will be child lock protected from opening from the inside, however the rear heating controls will still be changeable.

Would I be able to purchase the module and just plug it into the passenger side so that seat symmetry works?

Connected to OBDEleven after a long time (got my 2020 Q7 yesterday) and found now you need to open the hood/bonnet to save any changes. Cannot remember if that was always the case.

Didn't know that - my previous one 2017 model.
Now, having said that though, last two changes I made, without opening the hood - didn't ask me to open it.

Was there a code for enabling Video in Motion (VIM)? I did on my old one but cannot seem to find it here anymore.
(using OBDEleven of course :D)

There is no coding, it's a feature. If I remember well it was 100 credit or something like this, you can find it in the app menu.

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a 2018 Q7 in NAR, and have been reading the thread and have made some coding changes via VCDS (Thanks Andy)
Thanks
what encoding changed, thanks !!!

Hi Guys,
I have a 2020 Q7, was wondering if a developer screen exists? I have just purchased Carista OBD2 device and the app, however it doesn’t allow me to view developer options such as audio decibel displacement. Currently the radio is louder than the SAT NAV, I Phone so was wondering how to increase the volume?
Thank you in advance!

Hi,
Not sure about coding but.
Normally you have to adjust the sat nav volume whilst she is talking to you.
Hope that helps.

All these volume levels you can settle via MMI in "Volume settings". Look at Owner's Manual. Engineering Menu exists: touch the MMI screen in the right top corner of MMI screen with 2 fingers for couple of seconds. But I am not sure if you find there something what is adjustable without professional knowledge and VAS system.

Got sq7 4m my 2018 and use OBDeleven. Have done some codings already. Have following question:
Want to close boot with remote, I do not have comfort key. Found following coding but did not work, cause mentioned menu items in "adaptions" not available:
Module 6D, Security Access -16”,Enter the security code 12345,Go to “Adaptation - 10”,(4)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Tap function for closing,Enter the New Value as Activate,Click DO It!,(4)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Tap function for closing,Enter the New Value as Activate
Any idea if it is possible and how to do it? Preferably with longcoding

And in one of the first posts you search for taillight with DRL. Probably you already know the coding for that. I have tested it and it is:
Module 9 byte 2 bit 3 set to 1. You can add it to
the overview at the top of the page

Thanks Sander, appreciate you sharing this info
You are more than likely right, but in the UK its all enabled as standard which is why I dont think we picked up on these extra adaptation channel changes
At the most though you should only need to active these 2:
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration
Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_seat_configuration_over_threshold_hig h
Not the other 3.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Andy,
Big thanks for all these modifications. I have enabled few but I am struggling with this particular one.
I have enabled all the options and after MMI reboot ticked the easy entry option but still seat does not move. My has seat memory button and does not have electronic steering column. Attached are the screenshots of all the settings. Please let me know what I am missing. Appreciate your help in advance.

Hi all, really enjoying all the knowledge on this thread.
Have spent a lot of time looking--can anyone confirm we don't know of a way to retract the MMI screen in MY2018-2019?
I saw it wasn't a coding or a wiring thing. Curious if there are other hypotheses?

I did hear back from Kufatec indicating they can't make the screen retract on 2018-2019 cars, so I'm assuming nobody has figured this one out...

this might be a silly question and maybe there is an answer somewhere I missed in my search. Tried searching this thread and the forums but, is there a way to code the amber led's in the LED Headlamps to function as the DRL instead of the white?

Hi Guys! 🖐🏻
Is it possible to activate the function so that as soon as the driver's door is opened, the engine turns off? 🤔 With OBDeleven in the A6/A7 4G there is that option, but in the Q7 4M I don't know if it can be activated.

Has anyone been able to permanently disable or reverse the start stop function? 🤔
With OBDeleven it can be done, but it costs 100 credits 😔

Is there any possibility to upgrade via coding with obdeleven from a virtual cockpit to a a virtual cockpit plus in a 2022 Audi Q7?

Yes, it's possbilewith OBD eleven, it worked for me to disable it. As far as I know the reverse worked on some of the former A6, but not on Q7. About your other question: In my car it was factory disabled to stop the engine, but as far as I know there is an opt-out for this "feature" in the OBD menu.

OK, thanks for the info!
So, it is only possible to deactivate the Start Stop and permanently with OBDeleven and with credits, right? There is no possibility to invert the function of the button like in other platforms like the A6/A7 4G?
Sorry for the late reply, I missed your question!
Yes, as far as I know it could be disabled only. However I wish to tell you, that it worked almost the same on the former A6/4G too. The only difference was that on several models it was available the invert working mode (just like on my former car), but on the other models it was only possible to disable the start/stop. However, as I wasn't able to find an option for the invert mode, and this possibility was never mentioned in the tips and trick topic on VWAF - so I think, the invert mode is not available for the Q7s.

I'm guessing this has been covered but if someone can remind me, can the drive select setting be altered to change the ride height (I did it successfully on my 4L a few years ago where i managed to reduce it by 10-15mm)? Thanks.

You mean you didn't see any traffic signs in the VC? Keep the view in the VC on the traffic sign tab. It should start by saying "no traffic sign recognised". This then changes to (a) a traffic sign as it has seen one (b) "function unavailable in this country". If you do see a traffic sign prior to (b), you eventual get the error "Traffic sign recognition: function currently restricted"... The error stays but the camera still keeps reading traffic signs... Restricted means it is NOT comparing the values in the map data with the images of speed signs the camera has picked up. This is the big difference between the Audi TSR system and other cars as it is using map data to make comparisons. Other cars such as Volvo and mazda just show the traffic sign that their camera has seen.
Make sure you park the car turn it off and lock the doors. That seems to reset the camera TSR settings. Then start the car, wait 20-30 seconds then drive past a traffic sign and see if the camera picks up.
Without the correct dataset in the camera (ie just coding TSR) you always get "no traffic sign recognised"... and no errors. VCP is great for all the dataset stuff. I;ve had to use it for BOSE retroft and Ambient light retrofit as both MIB2 and J519 [BCM1] need dataset updates. Tehe guys at VCP are pretty good with requests as well. As Andy mentioned, all the flash files etc.. are tied to your dongle so you need to also purchase the software subscriptions. finally, they do VIM as well.
Trust me, I spent months figuring all this out! We need to find a way of stopping the predictive route data hitting the A5 camera but still available for J519 (controls the lights and all those functions). I thought I had it nailed with some PSD fields in the A5 but it didnt work :-(
Hi spyderboyant I live in Serbia, and I have OBDEleven premium, i occasionally get the message that says something like "Traffic Sign Recognition: currently restricted. See owner's manual." Am I able to use my OBDEleven to make this fully working on not. The car is 2015 Q7 4M with VC.

Never mind, this is a usual Audi error message, will disappear soon. It used to happen if the cam's lens is dirty, or when your car has a bad day. That's all, it's not a failure, but a "business as usual" message. I know, I have these too :)

The issue is that my TSR is not working at all since the day i got the car ( used ). In meanwhile i changed the windshield and recalibrated sensors and camera, but still the issue persist, no signs are getting read.

I am attempting to retrofit auto brake hold onto my US model Q7 4M. I have the button and wiring installed but do not know the coding for the ABS module. B9 cars require bytes 18 and 30 be re-codes. That doesn’t seem to work on my Q7, I thought it might. Any tips? Could someone with factory auto hold scan their module so I can try their coding?
Hello - this is a wonderful resource; thank all of you for the tips and tricks. I have one that has stumped me. I installed an OEM tow bar and tow module in my 2019 Q7, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to code the car via OBD11. I can find guides for VAG-COM, but the OBD11 translations don't make sense. Further, the Ross Tech wiki is woefully lacking in this territory. Has anyone had success doing this?
OBD11 added some new codes, the comfort door lock works.
Feature: When you open the driver/passenger door, the windows roll down slightly and only close after the doors are closed. This avoids the problem of temporary overpressure in the interior.
OBD11 applied some new features/settings :)

Does anyone know the most effective way to deactivate or reverse the Start & Stop on a Q7 (2017)? 🤔
If I remember well, the coding was shared here. However, IMHO it is the most efficient way to disable this feature is to use the OBD11 or to find a member here who can do the coding for you. I suggest to look for Andyhood.
Apart from that, I don't think the "reverse" way works on the Q7, it worked on the A6 models.

Can you not set it to 'remember last state' ?
No, OBD11 has the option to turn on/turn off. As far as I can see, there is no such option.

What coding is required for OBDeleven/VCDS to deactivate it? (without using/paying credits with OBDeleven)

Yes, in the A6/A7 4G, the Start Stop function can be reversed, but in the Q7 I believe that this specific function is not possible.
