Help!!

I have bought my wife a 61 plate VW Polo 1.2 Deisel last year. It's always been a nice little runaround until yesterday, when it started running rough and the engine management light came on. It doesn't accelerate like it did in 1st and hardly goes over 50 -which suggests it's in limp mode.

Anyway a work colleague plugged in his diagnostic box and it came up with: Fault Code P2454 - Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor. A local mobile mechanic advised me today that this usually points to a DPF sensor issue which is a known faulty part on this model - can anyone confirm?

Can anyone advise me what sort of price I will be paying a dealership for this kind of fix?

Any help and advice will be appreciated.

We have to keep all the common DPF pressure sensors in stock as we see this on all VAG DPF equipped cars on near daily basis but they are cheap and easy to do on your car ALTHOUGH they must be calibrated using a suitable diagnostic computer system such as VCDS. However I often find it does not have the help and login pages for non USA market cars and I end up using the tedious and clunky VAG system VAS PC in its Guided Functions mode where one can easily loose the will to live! Just be thankful you don't have a Q7 V8 TDI, the two DPF pressure sensors are on a frame on top of the gearbox and you have to tilt the gearbox back and down to get at them......:banghead:
