A4 2008 air con problem

Hi guys ,I have a 2008 A4 avant and to cut a long story short...I have a econ light on all the time,ive searched lots of posts and the thrust sensor came up loads!!!! the only thing is...a week or so ago I pulled the fuse for the sensor while ignition was on to enable me to fit my dash cam..anyways..took it to a garage and it came up sensor gone to ground, so ive read u can change the sensor without loosing gas,so ive done that and its still the same...just want to know..if it was that would it work straight away or does it need the error deleting??? (try not to laugh,i just needed to c which side of the fuse was live so my piggyback fuse was in the right way) I'm feeling a bit of a **** at the mo!! any help greatfuly received. regards Richie

It will work without the error being deleted,so its still got a fault,or the sensors duff,(where did you get it from)remove the piggyback fuse and test across the fuse see if its got volts both sides,also make sure you've not screwed up the contacts inside the fuse holder.
