Just came across this on Carwow website https://www.carwow.co.uk/news/audi-a6-a7-se-executive-trim-complete-guide-2905 Only placve I have seen it but if it is true then it would suggest that RMC also supports Apple and Android integration

I don't understand the obsession with the apple CarPlay.
It's a car. You drive it and maybe have some music playing. The rmc and the mmi plus is quite good.
I think there's too much people wanting to faff about while they are driving and not actually concentrating on the driving

I beeped at someone the other day who was texting and driving, who then proceeded to hurtle abuse at me and saying how he was capable of texting and driving.

My only reason for wanting CarPlay is that I could then use a navigation app from my phone in the car which would give me constantly updated maps (with no ridiculous charge from Audi for doing the update) and proper real time traffic data which is only available if you buy the techpack at £1600

Expect many iterations as they clear the decks for the C8

I think car manufactured will restrict what CarPlay can/will do. It's similar to the VIM argument, they will restrict crap if they think it affects your ability to drive.
Also Why would Audi or any manufacturer fit CarPlay as standard and not fleece you for the upgraded nav unit at £1000-2000? They will find a way to get your money.
Also nav on the phone is only as good as there's mobile reception. Go out into the sticks and your google map and what not will start failing. Don't get me wrong when they work they are brilliant.

I've got a FL 2015 Avant, I want Android auto, but then again I love technology and gadgets and prefer the better integration for media, I doubt it will happen but here's hope that Audi will let us upgrade the mmi software in the FL to Android auto/car play!!! Otherwise I'm gonna have to part ex mine!!

Not entirely true... have you tried offline maps in Google Maps? I use it when I travel abroad and you can download a pretty large area and use it whilst offline. Granted it is time stamped so it can only be used for a couple of months (I guess they don't want you using really old maps), you need to do your route planning when you are online (wifi before you set off) and no traffic but it's pretty effective. Try it next time you go on hols :)

been using the 3 mobile abroad so get 3G/4g anywhere so never really had to cache maps on the phone. Never drove my car abroad, always found it easier to fly there and rent a car as most countries drive on the other side so not wanting to confuse myself too much and risk my car😄

I'm assuming that the BE comes with everything on S-Line and will therefore have full electric seats?
Configurator at audi.co.uk doesn't seem to have been updated yet.

Am just waiting for my dealer to get back to me and will post if there has been a price increase on the site but yes, the BE is everything S Line has, dealer configurator just gone live but not the UK Audi website yet. I have used carwow to get the best main dealer price for my recent car purchases and their site does have the new spec.

That article has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks but it makes no mention of the updates that Sam55 lists in his post.

Looks like the Audi UK configurator is now updated. Base price seems to have increased by just under £1k for the 272 BE Saloon I was looking at, but by the time I've added the Tech Pack, Lighting Pack and heated F & R seats the difference comes down to £435 (I no longer have to spec the folding mirrors as an option and heated F seats are standard). However, I now get full electric memory seats plus the improvements to the Tech pack.

Choice of wheels for BE has reduced as the rotors are no longer offered, lots of additional colours - very tempted by Java Brown or Diamond Beige but wife is saying no! Looks like Mythos Black wins out.

Looks like the Convenience pack for the Avant (load fixing, through load loading etc) is now £660 down from over £800

My S Line Avant quote is about £400 more expensive than before as previous post but I now get electric seats so am happy with that.

I just went in and configured a car to (almost) the same spec as mine. Electric seats and folding mirrors are now standard. Front seat heaters are now standard too (they were all cost options for me). The one thing I don't seem able to choose in the new configurator is the heated steering wheel - I can't see any mention of it. It was a £200 option on my car. The final ROTR price for the new-spec came out to be £47,070. If I could have added the heated steering wheel that would have made it £47,270. This is £295 cheaper than my current spec (£495 without the heated steering wheel). Looks like Audi are making the standard spec better and better - great news for anyone speccing a new car! :)

MF.

Hi yes strange one that as heated wheel at £200 is shown available on S Line still. I know the upgraded BE now has a flat bottomed steering wheel may just be error on Audi configurator whilst they update it.

I'm wondering if the flat-bottomed wheel removes the option to specify heating? I think the S line still has the circular wheel...

Its good news as far as spec for the C8 is concerned. Its about the Audi put heated seats into a 40k car.

What colour is the blue a6 on that link? Cannot find it in configurator

As usual with Audi, their press demo seems to be spec impossible to replicate. Is that blue a6 a SE as headline says? Seems to be BE with chrome Windows?

Come Audi, show us car we can buy
