Hi all. After looking around it's clear that the nav to nav plus retrofit is a pretty expensive fit, however does anyone know if it's possible to just fit the larger sized MMI screen to replace the standard 6.5 version? I'm quite happy with the standard nav my only gripe is that the 6.5 screen looks a bit poor. Kind of like an aftermarket afterthought. I know someone who did this with his a class and was just a case of replacing the screen with a bigger display (another merc part). I have a feeling that with Audi it won't be as simple as that however.

Anyone done this or know it won't work?

From what I understand the high resolution screen is not compatible with the RMC system.

Thought that might be the case, found a similar thread after I'd posted saying just about that. Kind of unfortunate that the smaller screen was used at all in the first place but hey ho

It's one of those things thy can charge you big bucks for so that's why it's not standard. The other thing is it's an expensive option and it doesn't increase the residual values so for people on pcp it's quite a hit.
On the a,b,gla, cla class it's different, the standard screen on them is like 4 inches compared to the rmc 6.5 inches. The newer mercs have the 7in screen and you don't have to buy the command units which is like a grand option.
