2013 B8 Symphony upgrade....

Hi all,

Had my B8 S Line a few weeks now and loving it, I ha e the symphony system which has Bluetooth for phone but not streaming, I also have a aux input in the centre console however no ami in the glove box.

How easy would it be to upgrade to MMI 3G or an equivalent that does Bluetooth streaming and iPod / iPhone integration?

In simple words, NOT SO EASY!!

And I say this after having recently done a retrofit of a 3G+ on my B8 2010 that had Symphony, bluetooth prep and aux input in the centre console.

You have to strip out a few parts, get a fair few new ones, and lay in new cabling and then have to spend a fair few hours sat in the car, not forgetting the few hundred £££ you'll have to spend BUT in the end the result is great and it feels great now!

Nothing hard, plenty links now available and much cheaper then few years ago.

But just for bt stream to retrofit 3G+, pure waist of money.

Better off retrofitting AMI and getting the a2dp attachment for it. I retrofitted ami to mine a couple weeks ago. All the bits off ebay and loom from audi came to £130.

A2dp allows audio streaming via Bluetooth.

Guys I pretty much have ordered everything I need off eBay to retrofit AMI with a2dp so far it's come to £170 delivered. I'll let you know how I get on when everything arrives!

Which kit you ordered for ami and a2dp and both are working via steering wheels controls or how?

I just have the ipod adapter it all comes up in the dash display and is fully control able with steering controls and stereo controls. It does need coding in with vcds. If you need any advise on the install I'll be happy to help done mine last month. It's all pretty straight forward.
