This is my first Quattro, bought at Christmas (boredom is expensive !!) so I am unsure as to rotate the wheels or not. The car has now got 14k miles on. Tyres are Pirelli P Zero 255-40-19 100Y
questions
1) Do I need to rotate
2) At what mileage do I rotate the wheels, or shall I go with tread dependant
3) Do I rotate front to back same side or diagonally
all advice gratefully read
cheers
Phil
1. I found mine wore relatively evenly, less than a mm between front and back so not worried about rotating. If there was a significant difference I would recommend it as there shouldn't be more than 2mm between front and back, well that's what the dealer told me
2. Always by tread
3. Depends on directional tyres or non directional. Non do diagonally, directional front to back.

I rotate mine but I change from summer to winters. To be honest, as A6S says, there is little difference in wear rates. My fronts are more scrubbed at the edges but really only noticeable after 2 seasons or about 20k miles.

I agree - I rotate mine when I replace after summers / winters swap. The fronts do tend to scrub on the outer edge a bit more so I think it evens the wear a bit.
Mine are front to back same side as they are directionally specific tyres.

I may be wrong but IIRC the C6 quattro had 50/50 drive and the C7 60/40 r/f, which means that the extra wear of cornering/curbs/wheel movement/engine weight may result in the same wear all round.
If they seem to be worn evenly then leave as they are, if however you have 1mm more on the rears than fronts then rotate.

Thanks for all the advice, I need a decent tyre depth gauge
